The decline of intelligence

I have always known that to kids being smart was not a top priority, being a kid myself i thought this was stupid as i always wanted to be the smartest i could be. My peers on the other hand could care less, i mean there were of course the people like me who always competed for the top spot and i admired them and competed with them. But sadly this seems to be only a fraction of kids my age which kills me. More interested in video games, there looks, and of course the opposite sex the value of intelligence has seemed to drop significantly. Along with its value goes the intelligence; no one is using what they learn, no one applies it to real life, there life. With Facebook groups such as "i hate the kid that drags on lessons by relating them to real life and then sharing them with the class" you can see how little kids care about making what they learn relevant. And i am proud to say that i am one of those kids, i frequently relate things to current life situations. I guess that is the end of my rant for now, it wasn't too substantial but hey its my first post so get off my back. good night
